The passion, philosophy, and purpose behind every photograph.
Alexander Reed discovered photography at age twelve with a borrowed film camera. What started as curiosity grew into an obsession — the way light dances across a face, the fraction of a second that separates an ordinary image from an extraordinary one.
After studying Fine Art Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design, Alexander spent years assisting world-renowned photographers in New York and Paris before founding Aperture & Light in 2013.
Today, the studio is celebrated for its distinctive editorial style — clean, luminous, and deeply human. Every session is approached not as a job, but as an opportunity to reveal something true.
We are students of light — natural, shaped, and found. It's the single most important element in every image we create.
A technically perfect image means nothing without feeling. We chase the real, the raw, the moments between the poses.
Our aesthetic is intentionally minimal. Clean compositions, muted tones, and generous negative space let the subject breathe.
